Spooky Schuylkill 5K
11th annual Spooky Schuylkill 5K- Halloween Themed 5k with costume contest, top age finisher prizes, and costume clad trail supporters/volunteers.
Frackville Fright
The Frackville Fright will begin and end at the Elks Lodge, Frackville. This will be a night run so bring your flashlights and glow sticks! The course will take you through the rolling streets of Frackville. There will be gentle inclines, some not so gentle inclines, with a downhill finish. This event is open to all ages and abilities. Walkers are welcome! Come dressed in your scariest, funniest, or group costumes for a chance to win some prizes! Top 3 overall runners will receive unique Frackville Fright awards as well as the top 2 in each age group. We will be accepting monetary and supply donations for the SPCA at the event. Milton Harvest Festival Bike Race

One of the oldest and most respected bike races in Central PA. This is a road course over some town streets but mostly scenic countryside. It has been described as challenging but fair. It caters to the experienced racer as well as beginners. Mountain bikes are allowed but line up at the rear of the starting pack. Male & Female award categories from up to age 15 to 71 and over in 5 year increments. Special Club/Team competition. The best 5 times are combined for the total. Club/Team riders are still eligible for individual age bracket recognition. Only the first 100 registrants get commemorative tee shirts so register early.
Coal Cracker 10K
The Coal Cracker 10k is an iconic running event nestled in the heart of the Coal Region. Beginning in the center of Shenandoah (PA), runners take off through downtown Shenandoah before being met with the first of many challenging hills. The course then takes the runners through the twists, turns, and gently rolling hills of the Coal Region before taking a left turn up the infamous St. Nick's breaker. Runners will test their grit and endurance as they face this steep, seemingly endless hill. Once at the top, runners will have a 1 mile cruise downhill back into town where the finish line waits atop a short but nasty incline! The Coal Cracker 10k is a challenging race that will leave runners feeling breathless and accomplished. All participants are invited to attend the awards ceremony world famous Mrs. T's Pierogies and cold Yuengling beer. After the awards join the Coal Cracker after party hosted by The Lyric Bar & Restaurant. The Coal Cracker offers 50+ unique awards, each hand crafted from the finest coal in Schuylkill County.
In addition to the 10K, the Coal Cracker will also be offering a 1.5 Kids' Fun Run open to children 12 and under. The Coal Cracker will also be holding a 1.5 mile run/ walk!
Hunger Coalition 5K
As an initiative of the Union-Snyder Community Action Agency (CAA), the Hunger Coalition brings together community members and representatives from organizations ranging from social service agencies to food pantries to local schools – all motivated by developing a community-wide, coordinated approach to address food insecurity in our community.
Since its inception in 2020, the Union-Snyder Hunger Coalition has garnered a membership network of more than 100 representatives and grown to be a well-established voice on food insecurity issues. As a network, we coordinate meetings with key stakeholder groups, including food access programs and local producers, we communicate information about food resources, and we organize educational events.
Proceeds raised through this 5K will support the Hunger Coalition's work year-round to address food insecurity by supporting our area's food access programs and hosting awareness-building events. Support our work by registering or donating today!
